If you’re dealing with the Xbox 360 red ring of death, then I feel your pain. I dealt with it about 2 years ago. I bought my original console back in 2005 when the system was first released and got the red ring of death less than 2 years after I bought the system.
This article is about how to fix Xbox 3 Red Lights without spending any money by using some easy little tricks to help your console run better.
The Heat Factor
The number one problem that causes Xbox 360 consoles to get the 3 red lights of death is too much heat builds up in the console causing it to malfunction. The reason for this is because the console does not get very good ventilation.
A way to fix this is by making sure your console isn’t insulated. You can do this by:
• Always placing it on a hard smooth service while it is running.
• Making sure it’s not stuffed into a tight space.
• Sitting up vertically to help air flow.
• Clean out the dust caked in the ventilation holes on the back and sides of the Xbox 360.
You’d be surprised how well these four things alone can help, not only, prevent the red ring of death in the future, but can even extend the life of your Xbox 360.
The best part is they don’t cost anything to try and will actually fix Xbox 3 red lights many times.
Another Tip
Another tip if you still get the red ring of death while you are playing is giving your console a break every 2 hours. Like I said above, heat is the leading cause of the Xbox 360 red ring epidemic, so if you give your console a few minutes to cool off during your gaming marathons, you will see less and less of this problem.
Although all of these little tips and tricks can help you see less of the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death, they do not actually permanently fix Xbox 3 red lights.
